The WBET 4th Annual 18-Hour RadioThon – benefiting St. Joseph County United Way – is set for Thursday (May 23) from 6 a.m. until midnight.
In reporting on plans for the fundraising event, United Way Executive Director Kelly Hostetler said, “For 18 hours, hear about local and state issues, our agencies and programs in the county, plus get a chance to donate to win some really cool prizes!”
Hostetler said, “You can help in many ways – most importantly, tune in and listen! Secondly, call in and donate! Any amount will help – we raised just over $12,000 last year and are hoping for more this year! We have a great lineup of Celebrity DJ’s.”
Hostetler indicated that Sheriff Brad Balk and Undersheriff Mark Lillywhite currently hold the ‘Celebrity DJ of the Year’ title and are hoping to maintain it.
Hostetler said, “A gas grill has been donated by Walmart and we will be cooking all day. We will draw from the people who give during the RadioThon for a chance to win that grill at the end of the night!” And she added, “We also LOVE visitors – just stop out and say hi! It will be a great time and we’re looking to making some really fun memories.”
